In depth

Verdict

Thunder Max made a winning debut here in 2021 but hasn’t won since and never threatened when third at Haydock. PLEDGE OF HONOUR (NAP) was well beaten on his first start since August but will be sharper today and, having won a higher grade contest over track and trip last season, gets the vote to bounce back in this. Shimmering Sands and Master Of Combat have a bit to prove at this level while Soames Forsyte steps up in trip still looking for a first win.
