Flash Of Gold can show the necessary improvement to prevail over Heavenly Bay and Henry Cecil's pair Time Crystal and Witticism. Owned by The Queen, Flash Of Gold is a half-sister to Phantom Gold, winner of the Ribblesdale and Geoffrey Freer Stakes, so has a bit to live up to. She has improved with each outing this term, and was game enough at York without looking like a world beater when second to Thingmebob, and should just about have the edge over Heavenly Bay on that form. Clive Brittain's filly has been tried over a variety of trips without success but has taken on decent company, notably when runner-up to Fantasize at Ascot in April. Time Crystal and Witticism are not out of the top drawer at Warren Place but will be found suitable opportunities in time. On this occasion though they have a job on to stop Flash Of Gold from scoring.
