Joseph O'Brien won this a year ago and though his recent acquisition Secret Splendour could go well at a fair price, winning rider Ana is on board Thomas O'malley who didn't get the best of runs when returning from a long break at Gowran on Sunday. Jan Van Eyck was having his first start since October when a good fourth at Leopardstown and will get a good ride from Ross Coakley while the experienced Gary Halpin was on board when Steelyeyed won a 1m2f Fairyhouse claimer before a narrow defeat over this trip on the same track. Recent Cork winner Mademoiselle Penny is in excellent form though may find the ground against her and Serefeli is another who prefers quicker conditions. POITIN, who is rated 9lb higher on the all-weather, bounced back to form on Turf under Robbie Downey over 1m2f at Leopardstown and, with this trip more to his liking and just 2lb higher ,he can complete a double.
