Mosalim is an interesting debutant for the in-form William Haggas stable whose two-year-olds usually go well but this race can go to the Marco Botti colt JELLMOOD. He was caught on the line at Ascot last time out in a better race than this and, with an edge in experience over these rivals and more improvement to come, this looks like a straightforward task. Alba Power is speedily bred but didn’t show much on debut while though Pranceabootthetoon won well at Brighton on Tuesday he is taking a big step up in class.
Alba Power (IRE) 10-1 (9-2) Mid-division, under pressure over 2f out, no impression, 6th of 8, 6 1/2l behind Nyaleti (8-11) at Salisbury 6f stks (3) gf in Jun.
Jellmood 5-1 (9-2) Tracked leading pair, led narrowly inside final furlong, headed and not pace of winner last strides, 2nd of 6, hd behind Aqabah (9-2) at Ascot 5f stks (3) gf in May.
Mosalim (IRE) Arcano colt out of Vision Of Peace.
Poets Dream (IRE) Poet's Voice colt out of Sparkling Smile.
Pranceabootthetoon (IRE) 11-1 (9-2) Close up, switched to centre 2f out, ridden and headway approaching final furlong, led just inside final furlong, ran on, readily, won at Brighton 6f stks (5) gf in Jun beating Holdenhurst (9-9) by 2 1/2l, 5 ran.
