Verdict

Hi Royal, Royal Scotsman and Galeron chased home Chaldean in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket three weeks ago with Charyn unplaced. Paul and Oliver Cole’s colt won a Group 2 last season and was second in the Dewhurst later so may come out best of the quartet of UK runners this afternoon. Proud And Regal is already a Group 1 winner but was only third when favourite for the Derby Trial at Leopardstown earlier this month and connections seem to think his future lies over further. PADDINGTON appears to be improving at a rate of knots and is reunited with Ryan Moore after Seamie Heffernan rode the Siyouni colt to victory in the Listed Tetrarch Stakes over track and trip at the start of the month. Heffernan switches to Age Of Kings, who hasn’t raced since third behind Proud And Regal in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last July but should be suited by a mile this year. Cairo is the third Ballydoyle representative and he’s won at Group 3 and Listed level, though may lack a bit of scope.
