      Verdict

Irish St Leger fourth Barbados has only won once, a maiden over two years ago, but PONDUS ran a brilliant race behind True Self at Flemington in November and will be better for his reappearance over a trip much too short here in April. Shanroe has been in good form over hurdles and is always capable of turning up in a race like this while Chiricahua was impressive when stepped up to this trip at Killarney. Powerful Ted is another who has been jumping and looks on a fair mark despite being 1lb out of the handicap while Bold Approach, another who has been jumping, is 1lb lower than his last winning mark.
