    Verdict

Elliptic missed the break but won comfortably in the end at Tipperary with the placed horses both having won subsequently. Missing Matron easily won the opening two-year-old race of the season here and has been competing at higher level subsequently while Hadman caught the eye at Leopardstown. CONFIDENT STAR, by Lope De Vega, cost 240,000gns at the Tatts Breeze-up so must have been very impressive while Dr Zempf cost 420,000gns and is by Dark Angel out of a two-year-old Listed winner. Rapidus is by Caravaggio and a half-brother to seven winners including the very useful Harbour Watch.
