In depth

Verdict

BARUD looks the pick of those with experience after a fine debut here when staying on over 6f. Normal progress can see him off the mark though Geodesic can do better than he showed when favourite at Navan as he didn't get the run of the race. Play By The Rules looks best of Jim Bolger's pair after a reasonable debut at Cork though the main threat could come from a newcomer. Point Lonsdale, a son of Australia, cost 575,000gns and is a full brother to the smart Broome and related to five other winners so will be expected to pay his way soon while Adonis has a very nice middle-distance pedigree. National Gallery is by Caravaggio and a half-brother to the useful Forever In Dreams while stable companion Canters Well is related to numerous middle-distance winners.
