Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer and bumper SIR ABBOT was undoubtedly disappointing when last seen at Killarney in May but has more scope than most of these rivals and the lack of credible opposition suggests he should be able to concede weight all round. King Bo Bo failed to complete in his first three starts between the flags before winning at Askeaton in February and he made too many mistakes to be effective on his hurdling bow at Thurles last week. Arthropod has shown a glimmer of ability in bumpers but the main threat could arrive in the shape of John Kiely's newcomer Master Appeal, who is a full-brother to the very smart jumper Fox Appeal.
