Alifax has the clear edge in race experience but his form, including a narrow second at Chelmsford earlier this month, doesn’t amount to much and he could be vulnerable to some of the more lightly-raced types, most notably KNIGHT IN ARMOUR. The Mark Johnston colt was held up in a novice event at Nottingham on debut but was getting the hang of things late on and will be better for the experience. Bumble Beeze is best watched for the time being after hanging badly at Windsor last time and Bib And Tucker showed little on debut. Aussie Wind may be seen to better effect over further later on so the pick of the newcomers is likely to be Snooker Jim, who has plenty of speed in his pedigree and a handy draw.
