On A May Day is the tricky one. She looked a typical Mark Johnston improver before bombing out at Carlisle and coming home a well-beaten last of five. It's also typical of the yard to send her back into battle just a week after that setback and it's a hard prediction as to how she'll go around such an idiosyncratic track. Weellan is turning into a solid front-running handicapper for David O'Meara and it will be intriguing to see if the aforementioned pair contest pacemaking duties. Plenty of others have form to contend but if there's one to have the race run to suit it's HARVEST DAY. He continues to run well after a sequence of improved performances and this hold-up sort could pick up the pieces if they go too hard up front. Gabrials Centurion, Chai Chai and Glorious Player could all take a hand.
