Verdict

Falcon Eight won this in 2021 but was only fifth in last year’s renewal behind third-placed Rajinsky. Hugo Palmer’s charge subsequently won the trial for the Cesarewitch with Call My Bluff behind and the latter was narrowly beaten by Emiyn over track and trip in September. Vino Victrix finished runner-up in the Cesarewitch with Zoffee back in fourth while Metier had the measure of Euchen Glen when returning to the Flat at Musselburgh last month and won the November Handicap on heavy ground at Doncaster last autumn. CALLING THE WIND has won over a longer trip than this in the past and having run well in a conditions' race on his reappearance, Richard Hughes’ charge gets the vote back in a handicap. Tritonic is fit from hurdling but both The Grand Visir and Reshoun were well beaten in this last year.
