Fiefdom has the best of the draw in stall one but is hard to recommend on recent evidence and preference is for Dabbers Ridge, who gets the vote ahead of Malcheek. The selection has the worst of the draw but could hardly be in better form having beaten Malcheek by a cosy length at Thirsk last month. Following the runner-up's subsequent success, the handicapper has seen fit to raise the selection 3lbs in future handicaps and he is taken to confirm Thirsk running with Tim Easterby's colt. Josh was not beaten far at Newmarket last time and the yard of Kevin Ryan continues in good form so he has to be respected, while Roman Maze was highly tried behind Etlaala last time and should appreciate the return to this grade. Musselburgh winner Royal Dignitary has more on his plate today and of more interest from the yard of Paul Nicholls is the consistent Serieux. Dabbers Ridge was good value for his Thirsk success though and has every chance of repeating it here, provided that he can overcome a potentially difficult draw.
