    Verdict

Barkston Ash completed the hat-trick at Ripon last month but is a strapping individual who takes a while to get organised so how he'll cope with a drop to the minimum on this sharp track is anybody's guess and the handicapper may have him in his grip now. Murbeh is paying the price for last year's successes this season, while Lord Avon was well beaten off a lower mark at York last time. Crimson Knot ran her best race for a while at Musselburgh last week but she looks held by Tim Easterby's pair Boundaries and BERBERANA on runs together in the autumn. The latter looked on the way back when fourth at Haydock last time and can open her account for the season here.
