Nonrunner
Greenwich Meantime has been a revelation since joining Richard Fahey and is taken to complete a quick hat-trick and score at the main expense of The Nawab and Elusive Dream. The last mentioned is a rare runner at this meeting for Sir Mark Prescott but his string is clearly in good order so the son of Rainbow Quest has to be of interest stepping up to a distance that should suit. Charlie Egerton's Vinando was a respectable fourth in the Cesarewitch last term and comes here ft from hurdling so has to be respected along with Mikao from the in-form yard of Mark Tompkins, although he has yet to prove his effectiveness over this far. Dual Queen's Prize winner Cold Turkey has similar staying doubts and of more interest may be Amanda Perrett's enigmatic Bulwark, who has only ever won under Kerrin McEvoy. Nicky Henderson's runners on the level are always worthy of a second look and Dancing Bay is no exception although more solid claims are probably held by John Dunlop's The Nawab, who should improve for his return at Kempton. The vote though has to go to Greenwich Meantime, who showed enough speed to win over 1m4f on his first start for Richard Fahey before comfortably landing the odds back over two miles last time. Today's longer trip should not be a problem and he looks to be well treated under just a 3lb penalty for his latest success.
