Barry Hills has a record second to none at Chester so his representative Auction Room has to be respected on her reappearance but she is not certain to stay this far and preference is for Allegretto, who gets the vote ahead of Time On. The selection showed some promise on her only start at two on what was probably unsuitably soft ground at Doncaster over an inadequate trip. Today's distance should suit the daughter of Galileo ideally, as should the ground, and she gets the vote to give Sir Michael Stoute another winner. Peter Chapple-Hyam's Cortesia created a favourable impression when making a winning return at Newbury last month and has claims although this looks a lot tougher, while Mont Etoile gave the impression that there was a lot more to come after her win at Yarmouth last time and she could be of interest. Ed Dunlop's Off Message might not have beaten much on her debut but should come on a bundle for it, although she could probably do with a softer surface, while Shout is strictly held by Cortesia on Newbury running but should improve for the run. Time On was a rare winner for John Dunlop on her return and should come on for the run as most of the yard's horses have done but she is another that would probably want rain and preference is for the unexposed Allegretto, who should be better suited by the prevailing fast ground.
