In depth

Verdict

Another contest where the shortlist would hardly qualify that description and not many can be confidently ruled out. Batswing and Capriolo both go well here and although on the face of it they have a little to prove, they are both hard to beat on their day. Others to consider are Octane, who is reunited with Keiren Fallon for only the second time since his juvenile days, and Spring Pursuit, who surely must deliver one day. However, the in-form Western Ridge could well be the one they all have to beat and is a marginal preference on a track that should suit him.
