Verdict

Darryll Holand will be on a personal mission to vanquish the memory of his horrendous bloomer in this race last season; where Island House was home and hosed the winner until the rider inexplicably dropped his hands as the line approached. After the scathing criticism the Mancunian received after the race, he will make sure that there will not be a repeat performance if his mount is up on the pace inside the final furlong. The improving Tough Speed represents the same winning trainer as last year, and with the ground in his favour, he should provide Island house with his sternest test if he copes with the step up to ten furlongs.
