Verdict

David Loder's Parasol, a three-time winner already this season, gets the vote in this Listed event, in which his main rivals would appear to be Henry Cecil's Burning Sun, a Group Two winner in France last season, and Marcus Tregoning's Bustan. Parasol left Mick Channon's yard for Godolphin after contesting the Dewhurst but failed to set the world alight until coming into the care of David Loder, winning three on the reel including the Winter Derby at Lingfield. His latest success came in the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton, showing that he has continued to progress. The Arlington Million has been mentioned but connections would like to see him complete the four-timer here first. With a lovely draw in stall three, he should be able to lie hand before picking them off two furlongs out. Burning Sun found things too hot to handle in the Champion Stakes on his last start, but had earlier won a Group 2 in France. However, that was on soft ground and he might find this a bit lively on his comeback. Bustan had a good three-year-old campaign and Marcus Tregoning is looking forward to a good summer with him. Gallant Hero represents the Russian Rhythm connection of Cheveley Park, Stoute and Fallon but is another with an absence to overcome. Pablo of course won the Lincoln, but although Barry Hills loves to have winners here, will find this tough, while Vintage Premium, the John Smiths Cup winner, is also likely to be outclassed.
