Verdict

This has cut up quite badly from the five-day entries and is not the strongest renewal of this traditional Derby trial as a result. And it looks to be a good opportunity for Barry Hills to expand upon his 19 % strike-rate on the Roodee with Risk Taker. The son of Rainbow quest got of the mark in impressive fashion in a Newmarket maiden on his reappearance and can get the better of the exposed Summerland, who is in danger of becoming disappointing. Leopardstown maiden winner Cruzspiel looks to be a useful sort and is the interesting one to watch in the betting market.
