Barry Hills likes to plunder prizes here at Chester and he has a strong chance of landing this maiden with Desert Demon, Love and Laughter and Kristalchen appear to be the main dangers. This son of Unfuwain showed plenty of promise on his debut at Newmarket a fortnight ago when finishing a close up fifth behind Camacho. He was a little green in the early stages but soon got the hang of things. With improvement to come he will be very difficult to beat in this modest looking event. Love And Laughter holds similar claims as she ran well at Haydock on the same day, finishing well to take sixth spot. That was on soft going, so it will be interesting to see if the firmer ground today brings out any improvement. Best of the newcomers may be Kristalchen, a well bred daughter of Singspiel who hails from a yard capable of producing first time out winners. There are others who have displayed some ability, but Desert Demon looks to hold the strongest claims.
