Franchoek can get losses back at the expense of Red, Susie May, Right Option and Conny Nobel to name but a few. Franchoek was sent off as favourite at Haydock last time on the strength of an earlier success over two miles at Nottingham. However, he could not cope with Alleviate over the shorter trip, and in the end had to be content with third place only. With an extra two furlongs in his favour now, the selection is the one that they have to beat. Red has to give him 4lb here, but with Seb Sanders on board, the Windsor runner-up may be involved in the finish, without being good enough to lose her maiden tag. Susie May failed to stay last time she was tried over two miles, but the way she sauntered home at Brighton suggests that she is worth a try over further again, while Right Option has his first try over two miles but has slipped down the weights. Conny Nobel has been kept to this grade without success, and so for the winner we return to Franchoek.
