Verdict
ALFIE SHERRIN is likely to be a short price to see off Mister Stickler and Prince Tom. A winner of a point at Larkhill, he is closely related to Beau Ranger and Beau so a test of stamina will see him at his best in the future. Mister Stickler shaped well from an unpromising position at Uttoxeter. That experience should have taught him plenty. Prince Tom ran solidly against more experienced sorts on debut. He'd need to have come on in order to win this. Ffos Las Diamond makes a debut for the in-form Peter Bowen so it would be no surprise to see him backed accordingly. Hobby Horse is related to a number of winning flat horses. Pliny's relatives include marathon performers, Paddy For Paddy and Tyndarius so he might just find this race to be over plenty sharp enough. Rudie Finn was well beaten in a Newton Abbot bumper though wasn't ignored in the betting on that occasion. There are plenty of future winners to come out of this event and we stick with Alfie Sherrin.
