This looks the better of the two divisions of the maiden and narrow preference is for LUC JORDAN ahead of Park Lane, Palacefield and Hambledon Hill. Luca Cumani's three-year-old belied expectations on his Yarmouth debut when he was second to Ithbaat at 22/1. That run came on quicker ground than is likely here but he will have learnt plenty from the experience and is fancied to go one place better this afternoon. Two horses familiar with finishing runner-up are Palacefield and Park Lane. The latter has been twice on three of his five starts and this Royal Applause colt needs to find some extra improvement from somewhere whilst Palacefield is also highly rated and lost out by the narrowest of margins at Thirsk last time. High Morning, Royal Superlative and Hold Fire need to improve greatly on what we have seen to date, whilst the 73-rated Hambledon Hill doesn¿t have much to find on official ratings and must be considered, especially if there is much rain around. This looks a fair opportunity for Luc Jordan to get off the mark.
