      Verdict

      SOLEMN can regain the winning thread at the main expense of Matterofact and Stamford Blue. The selection ticks plenty of boxes as he arrives here in good form and he is proven on a soft surface. He lost no caste in defeat behind Greek Secret last time and a reproduction of that effort may well suffice here. Matterofact still looks to be on a competitive mark on the evidence of her run at Bath last week when she chased home Desperate Dan. She will go on the ground and she should not be far away. Trainer Ron Harris is in good form so Stamford Blue is also worth considering as he is back racing off a very attractive mark. Cape Royal is another back on a competitive mark and he was only narrowly behind Matterofact when last seen out. This is a trappy affair to close the card and narrow preference is for Solemn.
