Flash The Steel has been lightly raced and won this last year, though is 8lb higher today. Beaufort West finished tailed off 12 months ago but, following wind surgery, won his next two and is still unexposed in handicap company. A similar comment applies to Notre Pari, who won at Aintree and Fontwell last term. Tea Clipper could be anything, as could Fix Sun, and Doubly Clever arrives on a hat-trick. Harry Cobden appears to have chosen Saint Sonnet over the four-year-old SIR PSYCHO but the latter should benefit from Bryan Carver’s claim. A very easy winner over 2m1f on soft going at Exeter last season, the Triumph Hurdle fifth gives the impression he’ll thrive over longer distances this season and he undoubtedly has a touch of class.
