The three-year-olds should be the ones to concentrate on here with Studmaster getting a tentative vote over Loyal and Claptrap. Amanda Perrett's Loyal has obvious claims on the evidence of recent form but it was worrying the way he was collared by Sicily at Redcar last time and the son of Bluebird may not appreciate the longer trip here. Jamie Osborne's Claptrap tackles this trip for the first time and, being a half-brother to the miler Young Ern, is another that is not guaranteed to stay. Hopefully there should be no problems on that score with Studmaster who is by Leger winner Snurge. Paul Cole's colt needs to improve on what he has shown so far to take a hand but the longer trip should suit and, at the forecast odds, he makes plenty of appeal. Of the older horses Robbie Can Can and Indian Beat have the most solid claims but it will be a surprise if this does not go to one of the classic generation with Studmaster getting the vote.
