VERUS DELICIA is only a hopeful choice in a trappy contest. Her penultimate run when second to Feel The Heat at Thirsk was a meritorious effort but she was nowhere near the same level when disappointing at Brighton next time behind Hamis Al Bin and that isn't the first time she's failed to build on a decent performance. The Mongoose has landed three of his four career wins at this level and should be more at home here than when beaten at Brighton last time in the race won by Decent Fella, having previously scored comfortably at the same venue. Compton Prince is respected despite maiden status whilst Hazza The Jazza, the sole three-year-old on show, is a possible from the bottom rung of the handicap.
