Navanman holds Sam Red, third here in 2019, on Newbury running but was only fourth when a warm favourite over this trip in an Open at Flete Park, more than four lengths behind winner Know The Score. Ennistown has won 12 times under Rules but was well beaten on his debut in points. KILKISHEN won four times in Ireland when trained by Shark Hanlon and made a winning start for new connections at Kelso. He was fourth in the Eider in 2019, 14 lengths ahead of Ange Des Malberaux, so stamina is not going to be an issue and he looks the one to beat ahead of Optimised, who was runner-up in this when it was last staged two years ago. Dr Des could run well at bigger odds and Captain Cattistock will have his supporters given he finished a place behind Foxhunter winner Porlock Bay at Wincanton, though was a disappointing favourite at Doncaster subsequently.
