In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with not much between many of the leading rivals but the principals look to be Macgeorge, Cantarinho, Torduff Express and Mullensgrove and the tentative vote goes to Cantarinho. The selection easily defeated Courage Under Fire last time out under similar conditions and with this stiff track sure to bring out some more improvement he will be hard to beat. Macgeorge has been in good form of late and rates the main danger he was a good second behind Bright Approach last time but his best efforts have come with more cut in the ground and he is passed over on this occasion. Torduff Express is another that could go well he will like the fast ground and will appreciate this longer trip having looked outpaced behind Forest Gunner at Aintree last time. Mullensgrove was slightly disappointing when a beaten favourite last time but if the rains arrive he is another that has definite place claims. Of the remainder Tales Of Bounty has the ability to win but was let down by his jumping last time and for the winner we return to Cantarinho.
