Verdict

There are six previous winners in this so the form could be worth following. Restandbethankful was only a narrow winner at Perth but victory was achieved with the minimum of effort and the first two pulled well clear. Major Robinson has a first run for David Pipe after winning for Stuart Crawford at Thurles in March. Smurphy Enki made an impressive winning start under Rules at Wincanton in the same month but Shantou's Melody has more recent form and should reverse Fontwell running with Masteroftheheights. Three of the newcomers catch the eye on breeding with I AM MAXIMUS, a half-brother to two Flat winners, likely to have more pace than Don Alvaro and the jumps-bred My Drogo.
