Perfect Candidate won this last year and is on a 2lb lower mark after poor runs in top handicaps subsequently. The 2015 Gold Cup winner Coneygree is on another comeback mission but invariably goes well fresh and it's too early to give up on him while Virgilio is well up to this level as he showed when scoring at Aintree in May then landing a Listed race at Uttoxeter. He found the ground too quick over 3m in the Charlie Hall and though he could do with some rain the trip will bring out the best in him. SINGLEFARMPAYMENT has won over hurdles here and has twice been beaten a short-head over fences on the track. He was conceding 13lb when beaten 4l by Cogry over 3m1f here just over a year ago and can reverse the places on the revised terms. The lightly-raced Sharp Response looked a nice staying handicapper in the making when scoring very easily at Carlisle though a 12lb rise makes this more difficult. Pure Vision has only had five starts over fences but his narrow defeat by Winter Lion here in April puts him in the picture. The Young Master battled on strongly to land a competitive handicap at Chepstow though was engaged here yesterday while Daklondike looks certain to win some good races this season though his form is on much softer ground. Vicente and Rock The Kasbah are others to consider in a very competitive handicap.
