Hughie Morrison sends Marmelo across the Channel once again. He ran well over today’s trip at Deauville last time when beating Peribsen and finishing runner-up in a Listed contest to an Andre Fabre-trained winner. The French maestro runs DOHA DREAM in this and his recent third behind Arc fancy Makahiki and Midterm in the Prix Niel here last month is the best form on offer. A previous winner of a couple of Listed races over 1m4f in the provinces, he should stay this longer trip. Alain De Royer-Dupre and Christophe Soumillon have a good recent record in this and it would be no surprise if Minamya showed a big improvement while Moonshiner made a successful raid from Germany to claim a Group Three prize at Saint-Cloud last month and is preferred to Gontchar.
