      Verdict

A similar contest over course and distance a week ago won by Countdown seemingly holds the key to the outcome of this contest with the third that day King Harson taken to reverse that running with his conqueror there and the second Bold Marc. The last mentioned meets the selection on the same terms today but King Harson looked unlucky in running that day, especially close home, and there is no reason why he cannot reverse that form this afternoon. The fourth and fifth last week, Hiccups and Titinius, are both held on running that day and of more interest may be Sentiero Rosso, who has claims on bits and pieces of his form but is none too consistent. Last week's winner Countdown obviously has to be respected but he may not find things easy under a penalty and preference is for King Harson.
