Verdict

The much travelled ENGLISH SUMMER won a handicap over this trip at Chester in August and raced over further before landing a track and trip claimer ten days ago from today's rival War Poet. He's still on a fair mark and looks the one to be on. Forced Family Fun looked a progressive type on the Flat and over hurdles at the beginning of the year and would be an obvious threat if fit enough after a break since April. Sioux Chieftain is 4lb higher than when scoring here three weeks ago but Full Moon Fever looks a threat as she returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory on soft ground at Bath. Never Up landed a Ripon maiden by 8l last month but was well beaten when tackling a York handicap.
