Stamina is the name of the game for Descaro, who has scored twice over Pontefract's 2m2f. He has a 6lb penalty for last week's success but should still be in the mix. Winning bumper Tricksofthetrade has been racing over trips much too short in maidens and will be much better suited by this distance on his handicap debut. High Ransom looked a progressive hurdler earlier this year but has a long absence to overcome and ran poorly when fancied at Newcastle in April while Gaselee hasn't shown much since scoring at Nottingham a year ago. Strikemaster won a poor race on fast ground over the C&D earlier this month and the vote goes to MOHAWK RIDGE, a C&D winner in August and capable of scoring again provided there is a strong gallop.
