The most valuable race in terms of prize-money to have ever been staged at Catterick can go to Ossmosses, who gets the verdict over the in-form Devil's Run and Rosie Redman, who will not go down without a fight. The last named built up a solid profile of herself with five wins from her last eight starts. With each performance showing a good level of progression. The Roselier mare was still going well when falling under David O'Mera at Doncaster last month but, with the previously rewarding partnership set to be revived, a bold bid to get back on track is anticipated this afternoon. However, the on course bookmakers are unlikely to take any chances with her and, as she has already gone up 28lb in the ratings, she may not represent much in the way of value in such a competitive heat. In-form trainer Ferdy Murphy throws his strength into the race with last season's Irish National winner, Granit D'Esrtruval, who will bid to redeem himself after failing to cope with a restructured rating since his surprise victory at Fairyhouse last April. The weight is obviously still a concern for the North Yorkshire-based trainer, as he puts a 7lb conditional rider in the plate today. Others make slightly more appeal on balance. Another to take notes on is Tipsy Mouse, who has been touted as a Grand National horse in the making for a while now but his latest efforts have been way below those expectations. He too is best watched. Devil's Run has really been on a roll this term and is entitled to bid for his hat trick as he steps into this stiffer grade. However, his limitations have been exposed when upped in class before and he will need to produce something out of the hat to prevail again. Especially when the claims of Ossmosses are taken into account. The Don Foster-trained gelding is only now starting to mature and show exactly what he is made off. And with only 10st-6lb to hump around, he represents great value to land the biggest prize of his career so far.
