The first of two races on the card to be selected for screening by Channel 4 can go to Flake, who narrowly edges out the in-form Brave Vision, Culcabock and Dark Ben, who are just a trio of the rest with chances in a wide open handicap. It will also be interesting to see how the market speaks about Brooklyn Breeze now that he reverts to hurdles after a couple disappointing outings over fences this season. The eight-year-old has always been held in high regard by his connections and a return to form cannot be ruled out. Len Lungo's charge is closely matched with top weight Turgeonev and it is safe to assume that they will not be far separated if they run up to their best. Culcabock has been finding life hard since winning at Ayr at the start of last month and he may be in the grip of the handicapper for the time being. Whereas Dark Ben tries the trip for the first time after looking very one paced at Kelso when he was last seen out. Therefore, we go right to the bottom of the handicap in the assumption that Flake is open to the most improvement. The five-year-old won in good style at Sedgefield on New Year's Eve - creating the impression that he can continue to pay his way this season. Flake has already accounted for the likes of Brave Vision during his exploits this season and again looks the value call in a very tricky race to fathom.
