Verdict

Harriet Bethell is beginning to make a name for herself and her mount, Daaweitza, bounced right back to form at Southwell last time for which he picks up a penalty. His rider's claim almost negates the extra and he should carry his big weight with distinction. Edwin Tuer and Serena Brotherton won this last year and were successful with PATAVIUM in a similar event at Musselburgh in June. This doesn't look much tougher and the combination can strike again. Tropical Bachelor was in cracking form last summer and looked on the way back at Salisbury last time while any further rain would aid the cause of Resplendent Light, who won from just 3lb lower on soft ground at Chepstow a month ago.
