      Verdict

A big field handicap here where a decent draw looks essential and we will take Pay Time to take advantage of stall one, with Joshua's Gold, Sir Don and Lord Mayfair not out of it. Having said that there is a note of caution, as Pay Time was thrashed here after gettign slowly away from stall one in a similar race last year. However, the mare has been in much better form of late, going close at Redcar before winning at Musselburgh, and if she can get out well she has every chance of defying a penalty. There are plenty of no hopers involved, but Joshua's Gold and Sir Don will emerge from middle berths and both are in good heart at present, although the latter would prefer shorter than this. Meanwhile Lord Mayfair was a 6f winner last time but does look ordinary and has run badly on both attempts at 7f in the past, so is opposed in favour of Pay Time, who can score.
