A decent sized field here but we can narrow this down to three, with the vote going to Musical Fair to land this from Horizon Hill and Hollow Jo. The selection gets a 6lb penalty here for scoring at Redcar last time, when she enjoyed a narrow victory from Frascati. A filly with plenty of speed, she goes equally well over either this minimum trip or a furlong further and although this will not be easy with that extra burden, she looks to have the edge over plenty of her out-of-form opponents and can claim victory. Now that he has dropped through the weights, Horizon Hill looks much more interesting. Campaigned largely over either a mile or seven furlongs, he is almost a stone lower in the ratings than he was in March. Dropped back to five furlongs at Carlisle last time, he finished as close as he has for some time when a two length fourth. Back over 6f here, he can now go very well again and should be good enough to make the places. Meanwhile Hollow Jo is in a rich vein of form, having won over both this trip and seven furlongs recently, at Musselburgh and Thirsk. On the same mark as that last success, he will clearly pose a live threat to the selection, particularly over this distance. However, he will find today's track infinitely different to those other two fairly straightforward flat courses and that might find him out from a poor draw, so he is tentatively passed over in favour of Musical Fair.
