        Verdict

        High Voltage looked on the way back last time and is a sporting selection in a wide open handicap, Compton Plume and Serieux have to be considered the main dangers. Karl Burke's five-year-old is easily the best handicapped horse in the race, but has been woefully out of form. However his recent fourth to Ellens Academy in a decent Ayr race suggests he could be on the way back. On the pick of his past form he has twenty pounds in hand of these rivals and looks an interesting proposition. Serieux ran well in a more competitive race than this last time and must be considered for each-way purposes despte top-weight. Meanwhile Compton Plume must also have a squeak if his recent Thirsk run wasn't a one off. Divine Spirit and Special Gold add even more interest to a fascinating event and so we have to suggest a little bit of caution, but High Voltage could be the best option.
