        In depth

        Verdict

        A couple of interesting newcomers here in Love On The Rocks and Mageniken, but we will side with the once raced Carillon. Mark Johnston's filly showed speed on her Ayr debut, but when the winner stretched she could not go with her, and her rider accepted the situation. She still finished a clear second, and will be all the better for the experience. It is no surprise to see her stepped up to 7 furlongs. Love On The Rocks is a well bred son of Hernando trained by Kevin Ryan. He will know his job first time up and he should be checked in the betting, partiularly in regards to stable companion Fadeyev. Mageniken is from a yard that pops up with the odd juvenile debutante winner and once again the market should guide. The best of the rest could be Kunte Kinteh, but we expect a much better performance from Carillon and she gets a narrow vote.

        Love On The Rocks Foaled 21 February. Cost 28,000gns as a yearling. Dam an unraced sister to the prolific winner Tomba, successful over 6f and 7f between two and five years. The yards newcomers have to be respected and any market support would be significant.
