    Verdict

Monfils Monfils can spring a surprise on Altitude and Generous Jem. The ex-Nicky Henderson inmate had shown a bit of form on the level prior to joinin g the Seven Barrows team and put up an encouraging display at Doncaster behind Lilac Moon. A step up in trip should not pose too many problems and there are few worries about the going. Altitude is always going to be popular with Sir Mark Prescott sending a runner to the "gaff" tracks. A good win at Southwell was followed by a wide margin loss at Windsor. Generous Jem is always dangerous in small fields so she has to be factored into this contest in spite of a modest season so far. Wind Star is always thereabouts but the handicapper has had plenty of chance to check his sums. Casual Affair has let favourite backers down on the three occasions but he has won over the trip in the past. Monfils Monfils gets the nod.
