Verdict
MR BEAUFORT has taken time to find his form since joining David O'Meara from Tom Clover in the early spring, but the Cable Boy gelding was back in line last time when going down by half a length in a Class 5 Ayr handicap. He looked the winner for much of the race and looks ready to strike despite being raised 2lb for the run. Paul Midgley has had his runners in good form in the past week and is double-handed with Glory Fighter in first-time cheekpieces looking the stable preferred and also the likeliest threat to the selection. He's gone well on both starts this term and commands respect. Ann Duffield also fields two with the topweight Runninwild expected to prove best of the pair after his seasonal pipe-opener. Blazing Hot is an each-way option off bottomweight for his new yard.
