A wide-open affair but General Clermont has experience over fences and arrives in decent enough shape after respectable runs in handicap hurdles. The fact that he's 0-27 under Rules tells its own story but he should prove competitive. Must Be Dreaming has similar credentials as he's 1-30 under both codes but has shown enough on his two chase starts to be involved in a moderate contest. The choice falls on HARD RAIN in the hope his latest run when pulling up over fences at Limerick was a rare blip as the rest of his form over both hurdles and fences reads well in the context of this race. A reproduction of the form of his two previous chase starts puts him bang in contention. The lightly-raced Some Woman may prove the main danger after shaping well on chasing debut at Downpatrick.
