Verdict

Jovial Joey is a progressive northern chaser worth keeping on the right side but he has yet to race on soft ground and that may scupper his chance off topweight. Connections would surely have anticipated him performing on far quicker ground. Similar comments apply to Fantasy King, rerouted here after Saturday's abandonment of his scheduled appearance. In contrast, UBALTIQUE has plenty of solid form on ground with cut and his defeat of Pistol Park on soft at Haydock in January reads very well in the context of this race. However, he does come with risks attached having pulled up last time but has been given a good rest since by Donald McCain. He'll go close if back to form. Wadswick Court is interesting blinkered first time whilst the two other course and distance winners - Alderbrook Lad and Presenting Junior - are not discounted either in an open contest.
