Minster Abbi can come out on top over Little Task, Green 'n' Gold, and Sheer Guts in a poor contest. Minster Abbi was clear second-best behind Faraway Echo on his last visit to the Lake District track in May, but the ground was desperate that day, and the five-year-old will be expected to go one better under these less exacting conditions. Little Task was sent off as favourite at Market Rasen last time but just could not get going and plugged on for third behind Friendly Request. The concession of nine-pounds to the selection will be no easy task but he does always seem to be there or thereabout in these type of events. Green 'n' Gold also appeared here in May but floundered in the ground behind Crystal Gift. He is a previous course and distance winner though and will fare better on this ground. Sheer Guts takes a drop in grade after finishing sixth behind the in-form Space Cowboy at Fontwell, and with a step up in trip to help, he could easily make his presence felt. In a race in which bets are best kept to a minimum, we return to Minster Abbi as the answer.
