In depth

Verdict

Downtown Getaway won at Ffos Las in December but efforts over fences before and since have failed to inspire. Philip Kirby runs two with SUNSET WEST preferred to En Meme Temps. Tommy Dowson’s mount probably needed the run and pulled too hard when tailed off over hurdles at Uttoxeter last time but wasn’t beaten far on his chasing bow at Ayr in November and should be suited by a switch to a right-handed track. Lecale's Article won over hurdles for Nicky Henderson but became disappointing and has a first run for new connections while Tim Pat also has a first run over fences and is 5lb higher than when successful over hurdles at Bangor. Pitempton Power has looked to be in the handicapper’s grip since completing a double at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day.
