In depth

Verdict

Old Jewry beat veteran Pistol a couple of lengths in one of these here a week ago but has to shoulder a penalty today whereas Gamesters Icon has only gone up 3lb for recording a first win at Bangor. The Navigator has won his fair share but hasn’t raced since disappointing here in October, though has had wind surgery in the interim. DUTY CALLS doesn’t have many miles on the clock and was only beaten a length off this mark at Kelso just before Christmas. A subsequent run over further at the same track may have come too soon and he gets another chance with El Jefe and Soivegotachance also going on the shortlist.
